Editorial Policy
This page describes how ForeMining content is planned, produced, verified, and maintained. It exists so that you can judge for yourself how far to trust what you read here.
Scope and purpose
We publish educational content about music and musical instruments: construction, mechanisms, sound production, classification, instrumental ensembles, and basic music theory. We do not review albums, cover news, or provide commercial evaluations of brands and models.
Research and sources
Each article starts from recognized reference works in organology, musical acoustics, and instrument history, such as music encyclopedias and dictionaries, acoustics treatises, and museum catalogs. The references consulted appear at the end of every article.
We prioritize stable, widely established information. When a fact is uncertain, disputed, or varies by source, we prefer a cautious wording, such as "around" or "according to tradition," to a precision we cannot support.
Writing
Texts are written to be understood by readers without musical training, without giving up technical accuracy. We avoid unexplained jargon, superlatives, and generic claims. Articles are signed by the "ForeMining Editorial Team," and we do not attribute texts to people, experts, or credentials that cannot be verified.
How quiz questions are written
- Each question has a single correct answer that can be checked against reference works.
- We do not use opinion questions or questions that depend on fleeting information such as records, prices, or news.
- Every answer comes with an explanation of two to four sentences and points to a related article.
- Incorrect options are plausible but unambiguously wrong.
Review and updates
Before publication, each piece of content is reviewed for facts, spelling, clarity, and consistency with the rest of the site. Publication and review dates appear on every article and change only when the content actually changes.
Independence
Editorial content is independent. We do not accept payment to include, highlight, or alter information in articles or questions. If any form of sponsorship or advertising is introduced in the future, it will be clearly labeled and kept separate from editorial content.
